Annual Notice & Reminders
I am so grateful for the partnership, support, and participation in working towards a world free from power-based violence, a world where survivors are supported fully in leading change, a world where the humanity that binds us to each other is protected and celebrated. A world where the hard work of healing belongs to us all, a world where love truly leads the way. More than ever before, I am grateful for the ways in which we have come together to nurture our communities and tend to each other and ourselves. May this be the theme and rally cry as we close the door on 2024 and walk with grace and courage into next year.
As end of year projects, holidays, and all kinds of other things begin to overrun the end-of-year schedules it can become difficult to find time to meet, catch up, or simply connect. Because of that, I wanted to share a few important things with you.
1 ) CLOSURES: As usual, my offices will be closed and/or my availability will be extremely limited in the coming weeks and months. I do this to ensure I have ample time to wrap up projects, renew or plan for new contracts, participate in previously planned training and events, and to take much needed time for self and community care during the transition between years. Here is a list of dates to watch for:
- CLOSED: November 14th at 2pm EST through November 26th at 7am EST.
- CLOSED: November 28th
- CLOSED: December 19th at 11am EST to January 8th at 11am EST.
2) CONTRACTS: If we have an ongoing contract, I will be reaching out soon to begin the process of updating or concluding our work together before my offices close for the year on December 19th. I will have openings for new ongoing contracts beginning February 1st. If you have been considering partnering with me in this way, now is the time to connect with me. It is uncommon that I have openings for ongoing contracts, so please do not wait to connect.
3) COMMITMENT: this is my annual and gentle reminder that January is Human Trafficking Awareness month. The month can be very heavy for many of us, and considering the state of the world at the moment January is likely to be very intense. Because of this, I commit to reserving significant portions of time for my own care as well as offering support or coaching to other survivors of trafficking during the month of January. Protecting myself and holding space for other survivors to be in community and do the same, sets a boundary and foundation that prioritizes survivor wellbeing and allows space for healthy and strong survivor leadership. It is a simple way of walking the talk, and your ongoing support allows me to continue this practice, a beautiful and crucial part of our work together.
Finally, this year I am facilitating another writing journey. This year, I am opening up about some of the techniques and practices that I engage in every year as I hold myself accountable and set the course for next year. The live version of the writing journeys are offered at no financial cost to you, and though it is officially opening today the timeline this year allows for joining after the opening without feeling “behind.” If you are interested in learning more or registering for access to the virtual (google) classroom, please click here.
Deep breaths everyone, ❤️
